One of the most common requests that we’ve received was to streamline the SMS/Text opt-in procedure to ensure maximum reach for your district communities, as well as options to reset these notifications at the start of the school year.


Automated Opt-In Process for All Customers and Users
As of 7/29/19, any new user who receives their first SMS/Text notification from a district, school, class or group (or current user who re-enables their SMS notification preferences) will also receive automated instructions on how to opt-out (STOP), display the instructions again (HELP) and opt back in for SMS/Text notifications (START). This provides the user the opportunity at this point to continue to receive the SMS/Text notifications or opt-out. This process follows industry standards and replaces the district-wide opt-in campaign process from the past which was sent to all users at one time.


Notification Preference Reset Options for Existing Customer Districts

By request, we can reset the notification prefs for your existing staff, parents or students and for the modalities of your choice. If you wish, we can also limit this reset to only those users who have not previously adjusted their notification preferences. 


For example: If we perform the requested reset for SMS/Text preferences for ALL parents, parent user notification preferences will be enabled and they will receive the automated Opt-in/Opt-Out instructions when they receive their next SMS/Text announcement. This provides the user the opportunity at this point to continue to receive the SMS/Text notifications or opt-out.
